- What motivates people? - Do people naturall get along? - Hobbes: What does he mean by "a common power to keep them in awe"? - Locke: What does "reason" teach all of mankind?

- Describe how the American Revolution and various economic issues were causes of the French Revolution
- Explain the difference between Immediate / Short-term causes, Intermediate / Medium-term causes and Underlying / Long-term causes
- Explain the relationship between Underlying, Intermediate, and immediate causes of the French Revolution
